Worcester County stretches from the Atlantic shoreline and coastal bays to the Pocomoke River landscape. Ocean City’s boardwalk, Berlin’s town center, Snow Hill’s riverfront and Pocomoke City’s museums offer different starting points, while Assateague’s dunes and marshes keep the changing coast in view.

Created from Somerset County in 1742, Worcester’s history includes farming, maritime work, forest industries and the growth of seaside tourism. Historic sites such as Furnace Town and Rackliffe House explore more than architecture, including the labor and communities that sustained these places.

A Worcester address does not imply one set of services. Incorporated towns have municipal responsibilities, Ocean Pines is an unincorporated community, and county water and sewer systems cover designated service areas rather than every home. Coastal and river conditions also make address specific flood and evacuation information worth checking early.
